Preview guide. These are selection criteria and candidates from official listings. Recommendations based on completed playtests will replace this draft before launch.
Start with the stopping point
A single clear board is easier to leave than an endless score chase. Look for a visible goal: free the remaining rings, place the last cat or clear the final arrow. A level-based structure can offer a stopping point, but it does not guarantee a short session.
Match the task to your attention
Ring puzzles ask you to picture the path of a piece. A placement puzzle asks you to hold several rules in mind. Neither is automatically easier: choose the kind of thinking you feel like doing.
Check what can interrupt the break
Read the game page for timers, optional boosters and advertising notes. The site’s Play button requests a third-party embed; it does not guarantee an immediate start. Ads and the game itself may take time to load.
What we are comparing
- Ring Unhook: a dependency puzzle, with hooks that affect which ring can leave.
- Open Rings: a related spatial idea with bars and locks as well as rings.
- Meow Sudoku: a grid-placement task with row, column and colour restrictions.
- ArrowXis: a board-clearing puzzle about open routes.
These differences come from the platform descriptions. We have not measured time to an operable game, level duration or ad frequency, so there is no “five-minute” promise here.
